Every year, on the 29th of April, people across the world celebrate International Dance Day. International Dance Day is a global celebration of dance; it is created by the Dance Committee of the International Theatre Institute (ITI) which is related to the performing arts division of UNESCO.
In order to mark this occasion, Young Voices, spoke to 6-year-old Archisha Ray from Wettingen.
Archisha says “I love to dance. I have been learning Bharatanatyam from my guru, Purnima Venkatesh for the last 1.5 years. I really enjoy it. I also learn Ballet. When I grow up, I would love to be a dancer. I would love to combine Indian classical dance forms and Western classical dance forms and do something new!”
To all the dancers out there, we hope you stay creative and remain innovative! Happy International Day of Dance!
